Hey travellers!
As you might know, the holy Kedarnath Yatra 2025 officially began on May 2nd, and lakhs of devotees are already reaching Kedarnath for darshan of Lord Shiva.
If you’re also planning your trip and wondering how much Kedarnath Yatra 2025 will cost, then this blog is made just for you!
We’ve shared a complete budget breakdown to help you estimate your total trip expense and make your yatra smooth and stress-free.
Before we dive into the cost details, let’s set one thing straight —
this entire budget is based on the assumption that you’re starting your Kedarnath Yatra 2025 from Delhi and ending it back in Delhi.
So, if you’re travelling from another city, the travel part may vary slightly, but the rest of the breakdown will still help you plan everything smoothly.
Let’s begin your journey from Delhi. Here is how much you can expect to spend at every stage of the Kedarnath Yatra 2025:
- Delhi to Haridwar/Rishikesh:
- Train (First AC) – ₹1100- ₹1300
- Train (2nd AC) – ₹700-₹900
- Train (3rd AC) – ₹500-₹600
- Train (Sleeper) – ₹150-₹300
- Volvo Bus – ₹400-₹600
- Non-AC Bus – ₹300-₹500
If you’re on a tight budget, then the best option for you is to book a Sleeper Class train ticket from Delhi to Haridwar or Rishikesh. It’s super affordable, and if you book early, you’ll easily get a confirmed seat for just ₹150–₹300.
- Haridwar / Rishikesh to Sonprayag:
- Shared Taxi /Jeep – ₹700 – ₹900
- Govt. / Private Bus – ₹500 – ₹700
- Private Cab – ₹5000- ₹9000
Shared jeep is your best friend when it comes to budget travel! It’s affordable and faster than buses, plus it drops you right at Sonprayag, the last motorable point of the Kedarnath Yatra. Shared jeeps usually cost around ₹700–₹900 per person and are easily available from Haridwar or Rishikesh. But if you’re travelling in a group, hiring a private cab can also be a good option.
Just one thing to remember — outside vehicles are not allowed beyond a point, so you’ll need to hire a Uttarakhand-registered cab for the journey.
- Sonprayag to Gaurikund:

- Local Shuttle – ₹30-₹50
From Sonprayag to Gaurikund, you have only a few options available because there are no outsider vehicles are allowed in that region. You can easily take the local shuttle for this distance because this is not a very large distance, it is just 7 or 8 km, you can reach there in 15-20 minutes, depending on the traffic situation
- Gaurikund to Kedarnath (18 km trek)

Gaurikund is the place from where your trekking journey starts, I’m mentioning the way and the cost you must know for your trek. Here is the list below-
Options to reach Kedarnath | Estimated Cost (₹) |
Trekking | Free (But carry food, water and energy bars) |
Ghoda | ₹4000-₹5000 (one side) ₹7000-₹9000 ( Inc. return) |
Palki / Dandi | ₹7000-₹9000 (one side) ₹13000-₹16000 (Inc. return) (Price may vary depending on the weight of the person and the season) |

The above cost breakdown gives you a fair estimate of how much you might spend while travelling from New Delhi to Kedarnath.

Getting to Kedarnath is just one part of the budget — there are a few more things you’ll need to spend money on during the trip.
- Accommodation: Whether you stay in a guest house, GMVN lodge, or book a hotel, charges may vary from ₹300 to ₹3000 per night, depending on location and season.
- Food: Basic meals are affordable, but depending on where you eat and your personal preferences, the daily cost can range between ₹200 to ₹500.
